On Monday, April 4, 2016, the U.S. Senate passed the Defend Trade Secrets Act by a vote of 87-0. The Bill also has strong White House support. Supporters of the Bill are optimistic that the unanimous vote will increase the prospects for the Bill in the House of Representatives.
The House version of the Bill has more than 120 sponsors, but the House Judiciary Committee has not yet considered it and it is not clear when it will do so.
