In March, Berman Fink Van Horn participated in The Stewards of Children training, an adult-focused, evidence-informed curriculum proven to increase knowledge and attitudes about child sexual abuse and to change behaviors promoting protective factors. The program increased awareness of the prevalence, consequences and circumstances of child sexual abuse and provided new skills to help adults prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The team also learned the importance of positive change to organizational policies and procedures and individual empowerment through a personal prevention plan. The training was provided by The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy.
Berman Fink Van Horn is committed to continue to educate its employees about sexual abuse. It has received Darkness to Light’s “Partner in Prevention” recognition, an annual distinction for an organization that commits the time and effort to educate itself on how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
