Berman Fink Van Horn president and founding shareholder Benjamin Fink has been recognized with Notable status in the World IP Review (WIPR) Global Trade Secrets 2025 rankings. Global Trade Secrets is an international directory dedicated to identifying leading law firms and lawyers who counsel major clients on significant trade secrets matters.
With more than 30 years of practice, Benjamin has successfully handled numerous high-stakes trade secret matters, including the defense of a Silicon Valley–based customer and employee experience management company in federal court in California against breach of confidentiality and trade secret claims involving approximately $50 million in alleged damages. He has also obtained injunctions and favorable settlements for multinational corporations, consulting firms, biotech companies, and organizations across industries in multiple state and federal courts around the country to protect against the misuse and disclosure of confidential information and trade secrets.
Benjamin is a frequent speaker on trade secret issues at conferences and for industry organizations. He attended the inaugural Sedona Conference on Developing Best Practices for Trade Secret Issues, an invitation-only gathering of thought leaders in trade secret law and now serves on Sedona Working Group 12 on trade secrets. He served on the drafting team for The Sedona Conference Commentary on Protecting Trade Secrets in Litigation About Them. He also led brainstorming teams for the organization’s consideration of commentary on “Ethics Issues in Trade Secrets Disputes” and “Retention of Trade Secrets Alone as Misappropriation.” In addition, Benjamin has served as Chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Trade Secret Law Committee and currently serves as an oberver on the Uniform Law Commission’s Trade Secrets Study Committee.
