Berman Fink Van Horn Attorney Brett Switzer Appointed to Federal Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel

Berman Fink Van Horn principal Brett Switzer has been appointed to the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

The panel of 15 members will serve a three-year term effective January 1 and be responsible for assisting with the selection, appointment, and reappointment of U.S. magistrate judges.  Brett joins other distinguished attorneys from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Federal Defender Program, and private practice at the appointment of Chief U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May.

As a principal at BFV, and head of the firm’s White Collar Litigation & Government Investigations team, Brett focuses his practice on complex business litigation and white collar matters for corporate clients and their executives when the federal government is involved. He also handles court appointed cases for indigent defendants as a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Northern District of Georgia.

Brett co-chairs the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. Brett also actively serves on the Cristo Ray Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School Mission & Identity Committee and has held leadership positions with Georgia State University Law Alumni Council and CURE Childhood Cancer.
