The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently released its charge statistics for FY 2017. The number of employment discrimination charges filed in FY 2017 totaled 84,254, a decrease from FY 2016 and the lowest number of charges filed since FY 2007. The EEOC obtained more than $484 million in FY 2017 through mediation, conciliation, settlements and litigation.
