Senate Scheduled to Vote on Federal Trade Secrets Law

As previously reported on this blog on March 16th, the Senate sent the Defend Trade Secrets Act to the full Senate for a vote. The DTSA would create a federal civil cause of action for trade secret misappropriation. The full Senate is scheduled to vote on the DTSA on April 4, 2016. The bill has bipartisan support and passage by the Senate is expected.  This will move us one step closer to a federal cause of action for trade secret misappropriation.
Similar legislation continues to move forward in the House (H.R. 3326), though its path forward is less clear.
