On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, the House of Representatives voted 410-2 in favor of the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016.  In light of the Senate’s passage of the same law a couple of weeks ago by a vote of 87-0, the law will now proceed to President Obama for signature.  The Obama administration has been very supportive of the legislation and the President is expected to sign it.  The passage of this law represents a watershed moment in the protection of Trade Secrets for U.S. companies.  As soon as President Obama signs the law, we will provide more information on the benefits of the law and how it will change trade secrets protection and litigation practice.
