Jeffrey N. Berman is a shareholder in the firm. Jeff’s practice focuses on general business representation of entities and the principals of those entities on a wide range of legal issues. Specifically, Jeff’s practice involves mergers and acquisitions, information technology, commercial real estate, and succession and estate planning. In addition, Jeff acts as an outside “general counsel” for many diverse entities from small to midlevel in size.
Jeff has been a shareholder in the firm since January 1997 and managing partner since 2004. Jeff was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1982, and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. Jeff sits on the Governance Committee of the William Breman Jewish Home.
Jeff is a Georgia native, having grown up in Augusta. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979, Jeff obtained his law degree from The Emory University School of Law in 1982, and has lived in Atlanta since 1979. Jeff is married to Kimberly Richardson Berman, and they have two children, Kathleen and Matthew. Kathleen attends St. Lawrence University, and Matt attends Woodward Academy. The Bermans are enthusiastic international travelers, with France, Italy and Jamaica being among their favorite destinations. Jeff is an avid reader and a collector of first editions of award-winning mystery and science fiction novels. He is a member of the Porsche Club of America, and also enjoys biking, boating and scuba diving.
