Congratulations to Charles Van Horn and Benjamin Fink for being invited to become Atlanta Bar Foundation Lifetime Fellows. In recognition of their leadership to the Atlanta Bar Association, Chuck and Ben join 213 Lifetime Fellows. 

Jeffrey Berman received The Chair’s Award in recognition for his leadership and contributions to The William Breman Jewish Home in Atlanta.

Court awards more than $1.2 million to BFV client, a national surgical center, in dispute against a medical company for non-performance. Congratulations Charles Van Horn and team.

Congratulations to Benjamin Fink for being elected as a member of the Emory Law School Alumni Board. Also, Ben is a recipient of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Award for demonstrating outstanding service as chair of the labor and employment law section. Ben helped conceive an anniversary event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the landmark 1964 Civil Rights bill.

Benjamin Fink was a featured speaker at the Atlanta Bar Labor & Employment Law Section Annual Seminar. He spoke on Restrictive Covenants Matters.

Neal Weinrich presented “Georgia’s Restrictive Covenant Act: How Has It Impacted Non-Compete Practice?” at the Fulton County Business Court’s monthly seminar. Attendees included state and superior judges and staff attorneys.

Charles Van Horn participated on an Atlanta Bar Association panel, “Top 10 Tips for an Effective Trial.”

Benjamin Fink and Neal Weinrich presented at a “Restrictive Covenants and Trade Secrets” seminar for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia. Ben presented “Restrictive Covenants in Employment and Other Agreements” and Neal spoke on “Recent Federal and State Legislative Developments in Trade Secret and Non-Compete Law.”

Benjamin Fink participated on a Georgia State Bar panel, “Restrictive Covenants: Trends in Georgia and Beyond” at the 45th Annual Labor and Employment Law Institute. Ben recently participated on a panel to provide an update on “State and Federal Non-Compete and Trade Secret Legislation” at the 2015 AIPLA Trade Secret Law Summit.

Charles Van Horn was a guest speaker on an Atlanta Bar Association panel, “Real Estate Litigation Issues.”

Neal Weinrich
 presented at the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Trade Secrets Summit in Boston. His presentation was titled “Making Smarter Trade Secret Decisions by Assessing the Overall IP Portfolio, Economic Value and Enforcement and Damage Strategies – Damage Strategies from Outside Counsel’s Perspective.”

Benjamin Fink participated on a panel to provide an update on “State and Federal Non-Compete and Trade Secret Legislation” at the 2015 AIPLA Trade Secret Law Summit in Boston.

Kenneth Winkler was a guest speaker at the Disability Management Employer Coalition GA/Atlanta Chapter meeting. He co-presented “Legal and Legislative Update,” including trends in disability, leave and discrimination laws and proposed legislation and regulations.

Neal Weinrich was a guest attorney/lecturer at a Contract Drafting class at Emory University School of Law. Neal led a discussion on drafting non-competes and other restrictive covenants. He also addressed other contractual issues that arise when employees leave companies and ways companies can protect confidential information from theft. Recently, Neal also presented “Unfair Competition 101: A Primer for Business Owners and Employees” at the Tulane Atlanta Alumni Association Business Breakfast in Atlanta.

Charles Van Horn presented “Turning Bad Debt Into Meaningful Recovery” at the Community Bankers Association of Georgia headquarters in Atlanta.
